The fact that its uniqueness has faded has not changed the fact that I love to get a six every year.

I heard next years has already fallen off substantially. But, I'll pick up a sixer anyway.

Too much hype and there are just as good DIPA's for less money from local brewers, I'll pass on the waiting in line and try something new this year.

Misplaced one in the celar and didn't drink it till September. Big mistake. I'll be sure to drink them all fresh this year.

Personally I am looking forward (again) to the release of Nugget Nectar since it is an extremely good beer that is not over priced and readily available. The 'bonus' this year is that Nugget Nectar will also be available in 16 ounce cans. Booyah!!

    Cheers!

Great beer but I'll agree with @yemenmocha. Plus with so many awesome DIPAs nowadays it just just isn't worth the drive to PA to get a case (which is too many anyway for a semi-ticker).

I don't understand the price complaining. $18 for a sixer is $3 a beer, same as almost every other $12 4-pack DIPA you get like Double Trouble or Dirt Wolf etc. I will say though it sucks for Bell's that Sucks comes out at the same time and is $10-12 a sixer and is a better beer IMO.

A number of folks saying Hopslam is expensive and not as good as others.

What would you recommend for a fairly available DIPA I can pick up in Michigan for $3/bottle that you feel is better than Hopslam?

I like Lagunitas Maximus. Not better than Hopslam, but close in nature. $10.00 a six pack in MN.

I've had one at about 8 months. It's definitely no where near the beer it is fresh, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. It doesn't turn into this fantastic Barleywine or anything, but even at 8 months its better than a lot of DIPAs are fresh. Just one man's opinion.

Also, I am pumped for the Hopslam release as I always am. I am somewhat fed up with the hype, as I think its pretty absurd that its limited to the degree it is due to the hysteria. IMO, its worth the hype, but its a pain in the ass to head to a store to get a six pack of an IPA and be told theres a one bottle limit. Hopefully I can score a sixer fairly easily.

The bottle shop I was at was honorable and did not price gouge but did limit to one 6 pack per customer. I was slid one bottle that I forgot about while moving. I had it this past summer time, I do not like IPA's, but I really enjoyed it. Maybe I would like it fresh but found with a few months on it the beer was still delicious.

I've never had hopslam! Hopefully I'll get to try some this year. I just refuse to fight trying to find certain beers, it's either in stock or it's not, I'm not following trucks and tracking deliveries ha.
