Hopslam Sightings 2017

17.99 at Binny's STC limit 4. Picked up a 6'er and the can date is 1/4/17. Won't open until tomorrow night but I look forward to cracking one open during the Beer Temple Radio show

 

I heard that Toledo is getting less this year than last year.

 

I just opened a can tonight. Date 1/4 bought from the AH binnys. It is limit 1, but thats all I need. They probably had 8-12 cases left. I plan to drink it fresh and quickly. This is not a beer to sit on. Hopslam tastes the same to me as it did last year; Quite tasty

 

Drank my first can tonight. Super Balanced. A touch hot, but waaaaaay to easy to drink @ 10% ABV. Not my favorite DIPA(too balanced for my taste) but always look forward to Hopslam in January.

This was the first beer that absolutely blew my mind 6 or 7 years ago. Still remember the night, I lost my mind when I could smell the beer across the room.

I'm not saying Hopslam changed, but craft beer and DIPA in general has evolved. I used to buy 2 cases, this year I picked up 2 cans.

Yeah I will re-visit tomorrow with another can (because I had Pipeworks Devil Firefish before this) but I find it to have more malt presence and bitterness than I recalled. But again, that PW honey/apricot DIPA may have messed up my palate

 

While I'm not as seasoned as most folks when it comes to craft beer these are my sentiments exactly. I'd say for me though, the best DIPA I've had would be a toss up from Pliny or Un-sessionable (1ZENUFF can join the party too.)

My tastes are strictly Chicago & West-coast based but so far these are the DIPA's that I probably could tell apart blind folded and stay balanced with its hops without getting too malty.

If I can break up the six-pack I'll get 4 and try it with the PW IPA W/honey

 

Worked in South Bend today and crossed the border to see if I could get Hopslam. At Stateline Liquors they just were dropped 20 cases, cans dated 1/07/2017. But 25 feet south, can't be found in Indiana til next week.

 

Binny's in Highland Park and Buffalo Grove said they did not receive Hopslam today (over the phone, just now).

 

Thanks. I was going to head to HP over lunch. I called yesterday and they said if not today (Thursday) then next week.

 

Southeastern MI BAs, Costco Livonia on Middlebelt and 96 got some. 10 cases left, limit one case.

 

First Indiana sighting for me -- Stack's Bar & Grill in Valpo is tapping a keg today at 4:00. No cans yet in NWI as far as I know.

 

Woodman's in Carpentersville has a lot (I believe 70 cases). $18/6 pack. I bought two and the total with tax was $40.
The woman said they received twice the allotment from last year so "it should last a day".

It is behind the counter.

They have plenty in the back.

 

Downer's Grove Binny's had a large mound on the floor as of 2 hours ago. 2 six packs per.

 

Lake Zurich Binny's says next week. He thinks it will be next week for most of Lake County IL.

 

Same with the Bloomingdale Binny's - 30+ cases on the floor, with a limit of one 6-pack.

 

Any word on Naperville Binnys?

 

Do we know if any Chicagoland Whole Foods got any drops?
