It was Monday two years ago because I struck gold there on MLK day.

Drinking my second now. Always amazed by how easy these go down. Still a little malty sweet for me these days but always glad to pick up a sixer. Happy I found a six pack to drink for the lions possibly (most likely) last game of the year even if I paid $20.

Just finished #2, and it's drinking fantastic this year. Always floored by how balanced this beer is. Perfect sweet/bitter/aromatic combo.

Wife picked some up in Ann Arbor yesterday, but apparently nobody has it yet in Oakland County. Canned only 4 days ago!

Completely different styles, we all have different tastes. I like apples better than oranges. Not sure why it is relevant.

The best option here is to not even acknowledge and just move on.

Also. Oranges are way better (than many apples)

What was the general store charging for a sixer this year?

The local meijer here had two pallets full on thursday. I went in the morning for some groceries and was surprised to see them on one of the main aisle's. I figured what the heck I will give it a try. there were plenty then. I show up again that night to pick up some things I forgot and both pallets (around 500 six packs give or take) were gone. I had heard that some stores limited the amount a customer could purchase.

    Not this meijer apparently.

I walked over to the wine section and saw that a young kid from the service desk had found 2 six packs and placed them in a random wine shelf and within 10 minutes they were gone. I spoke with the woman who stocks the beer aisle and she confirmed that people load up their shopping carts and resell them for more at their smaller stores. She said shop owners do the same thing with soda (pop to you mid-wester's).

Moral of the story seems to be that Meijer needs to implement a limit. Because they're basically a wholesale supplier for party stores when it comes to Hopslam. Last year I went to several Meijer stores in the Detroit burns and never saw a single six pack of Hopslam.

If I was mejier I would in no way impose a limit.

    1)Those sales numbers look great
2)I wouldn't want to have be dealing with a shit ton of hopslwm sitting on the floor for weeks/months

What needs to happen, is that the distributer needs to split the first wave of allocations more evenly between the smaller stores and meijer.

If the smaller stores got enough to go around, they would have no need to go to meijer and pay retail.

They could impose a 1 case limit and still sell it all, while keeping a party store owner from buying a pallet.

I like your plan but I think the small party stores would still do what they're doing anyway.

Last year, the Meijer on Saline Rd. in Ann Arbor received multiple shipments of a few hundred cases each. I was there a few days after the first shipment was received and there was an insane amount still there, No limits I grabbed myself a few cases, (to help out some friends who had no luck). I'd have to imagine they will be receiving a huge allotment again this year.

Does anyone know if it is there yet?

They had some on Friday but it wasn't out on the floor yet. I'd just call them. Also, as I posted earlier someone purchases 30+ cases on Friday but that didn't clear them out.
