NYC/Long Island. I'm pretty sure we haven't gotten it yet. It's hit a couple beer stores on tap though.

    My favorite DIPA, hands down.

Are you seeing a lot of Bigfoot around? For some reason Sierra Nevada uses the same bar code for the High Altitude series and this may be the reason.

One of the best SN seasonal offerings of the year...one of the best craft seasonal beers hands down....Hop lovers rejoice...

It looks like I'm in the minority on this one! I enjoy fresh Hoptimum but, I really only get a four pack because its cheap for a DIPA! As it warms, the alcohol really starts to show itself and so does the malt! Don't get me wrong its a great DIPA for the price but, a lot of other options are better IMO! It is well balanced and has a nice pine hop flavor and aroma but, maybe a little to much pine for me....I'm more of a citrus and melon guy! It is a great brew though, just a little over hyped IMO!

This was Pandora's box for me as far as beer to it holds a sentimental value for me. The whole state of ri got a case it's first release when I was a senior in college and my parents actually went to different stores in ma to get me a total of 6 of these. I savored them all my senior year and saved one for graduation night.

I've only had 1 so far this year but I have 7 more in the fridge. It's bad timing for me going to vt last week because it just doesn't hold a candle to the rest of the beers in my fridge but I will always love this beer.

I had it for the first time yesterday evening.. Unreal. I love it. Thought about it this morning. Sierra Nevada is awesome for making it.

If Hoptimun was in short supply and hard to get it would be a top 10 beer.

I am with you here. I love SN top to bottom and split a four of Hoptimum every year but find it very strong on the pine/resin to me as well-super bitter. I enjoy the Double Trouble/Alchemy/Hopslam types the most and even the softer malt fwd DFH 90/Hopzilla as well. Hoptimum is more akin to Palate Wrecker to me-just have to be in a "rip your face off" state of mind.

...and I finally tried it for the first time. I actually didn't like it. Good aroma and flavor, nice looking beer, but the booze overpowers everything. Too strong for me. And, too bad for me, since it's a good deal!

It does start 3121. It just hit central Il and it moved quick at the store I get beer from.

My guess is our distributor dropped the ball and put in a late order, SN obliged with the new stuff, and I get some fresh beer. I'm out of it now, couldn't save any, but I'll check back when I go to the store Tuesday. Your distributors probably stocked up early.

    Cheers!

This is a good and bad thing for BAs in the Tampa Bay Area. Total Wine has a shit-ton still of the March 26 stuff all over the floors around here. Knowing how they operate (and it's hard to blame them, I guess), they may have a bunch of the May 1 stuff, but won't put in on the floor until the March 26 stuff is gone... then when they put the May 1 stuff out there, it will be 8 weeks old, and the June 10 stuff will be hitting the shelves everywhere else around the country.
