Where would you rate Palate Wrecker?

Palates change, but the first year they put this beer in 22oz bottles I want to say 3 years ago, I remember the mouthfeel of this beer being bigger, so sticky icky icky and resinious. Just a "raw" aggressively hopped and over the top in both tropical flavor and dankness.

I didn't have any Hoptimum last year, but this year I found it way more refined, easier drinking but still boozy, mouthfeel a bit thinner than I remember, and both aroma and flavor muted in comparison. Still good, just a bit underwhelmed from what I remembered

As I said, I'm willing to admit this could be all in my head but if it's not, I prefer it the way it was. 93 isn't a score to sneeze at, pretty generous IMHO.

    Cheers!

Can you get somewhat fresh Palate Wrecker (or any Green Flash) in NY? In NOVA, all Green Flash I've seen seems to be months old (like 3-6 months). I'm not going to plop down money on that until I've tasted one at least somewhat fresh.

Some of the best beers on the planet are shelf beers.

I tried it for the first time this weekend, and I was impressed. I expected to be, given the hype, but it lived up to it. I'm not going to jump up and down, but for $10.99 a four pack, I was quite pleased. Very, very sweet and thick, full of flavor.

Much more accessible than most other really solid DIPAs.
