Can anybody fill me in on the dealings between Legacy out of Reading and Ruckus in NY? I picked up a bottle of this beer, exact same label I had seen in the past, but now it is clearly brewed by a different brewery. And according to reviews it's dropped in quality a bit.

This may belong in Mid-Atlantic, but I thought I'd find more folks with general brewery merger/liquidation knowledge here.

Ruckus was a marketing company, and bought the labels of Legacy (which had previously been their customer).

The beers are contract-brewed - the most current contractor being the Butternuts-owned Cooperstown Brewing Co. If your labels don't say "Cooperstown, NY", you've got some old beer. I imagine a lot of the reviews might date from the era when beer was contract-brewed at The Lion.

Quick, concise, and thorough. I don't know why I didn't just ask you this directly.
    Thanks as always.

Recently saw a bottle of hoptimus prime at my local shop and was excited to see it. Looked it up on this site and it said it was discontinued. Noticed the name of the brewer was different on the bottle at the shop and looked it up under that brewer (contract brewed in Cooperstown) and saw that the reviews were a little lower. Can I get some opinions from people who've had both? Is it not as good since its been contract brewed or is it still worth picking up a bottle?
