I'm looking for a recommendation on a great hose for brewing purposes. A hose that doesn't kink, can handle running high heat water through it for cleaning, and is extremely durable.

Anyone have something they've actually used that fits all this criteria? I bought the hose marketed as "The Best Hose on the Planet", and it was terrible. Kinked like crazy and split within 3 months. That was actually the brand name of the hose. ha ha.

    Suggestions?

Oh, for the love of God, save your money. That hose is terrible. My father bought one and it was complete garbage. Look at the reviews on the Target site you linked. Looks like 131 bad reviews.

I'm looking for an extremely tough "garden hose" type hose, that I can use mainly for cleaning (so it has to be able to handle high temps) and to connect to my plate chiller.

Damn it, I should have looked at the reviews. My friend has some and loves them. I like the idea that it will not take up a lot of space.

I have kind of been looking for hoses on and off, my all grain set up is complete, I just need a chiller and the hoses.

Something I learned more recently - typical garden hoses are not considered safe for drinking water due to lead. If you want one that is, they make them for RVs.

I got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Camco-22823-Premium-Drinking-Water/dp/B004RNOVTM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396302285&sr=8-2&keywords=rv hose
And a filter attachment for it: http://www.amazon.com/Camco-40043-TastePURE-Flexible-Protector/dp/B0006IX87S/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1396302253&sr=8-7&keywords=rv hose

They've worked well for me, but if you're just using it for cleaning and not for filling your brewpot, it shouldn't much matter and you could probably find more durable and cheaper elsewhere.

I have this one in black. It's about 4 years old and I love it. It sleeps under a rear porch out of the sun. I purchased from sears and has a lifetime warranty. It's had a small bulge for 6 months. I'm waiting to see how long before it busts.

I use an RV hose on my back porch where I brew. Water just taste better coming out of it, period. None of that "hose" aroma or taste, especially when the hose gets warm in the summer. I have a covered patio, but it still gets damn warm out there without the direct baking sun.

I paid like under $20 for mine from lowes I think. Not a long hose by any means, but it's on year 2 and I have no issues with it.

Just realized we are talking about a hose to transport brewing water. I take back my above statement. I start with deionized water. I use the hose for cleaning and operating the IC.

After reading your initial post and before reading this reply...I was thinking to myself "I wonder if he has tried the Goodyear one?" I have had a black Goodyear hose for years now and leave it outside through every season. Thing still looks like it's in great condition. Never used in high heat water situations, so I can't speak to that (I use it on the IN side of my immersion and a cheapy shorter length hose for the OUT). Pretty sure I got mine at Lowes if you wanted to support a local biz (assuming there is one in your area).
