Would a hot tub pump work in brewing? Just wondering. I see free hot tubs on Craigslist, some with working pumps. Thoughts?

They will likely be diaphragm pumps with a max temp something like 135-140F. So, if the components are food grade, they would be ok for transfer of cold-side beer but not for the brew house.

Most old spa pumps are standard coupled, impeller (not diaphram) driven... and not magnetic drive anyway. A pond pump rated for hot liquids might work but a good one will cost almost as much as a March pump anyway.
