Hot weather making beer less enjoyable.

I am having issues with my beers. Is it the weather/storage (not my storage, stores storage) of beer in Miami that can make the same beer taste different. For example I have had Ranger IPA before and I enjoyed it. It was recently purchased again and the after taste was horribly skunky. Also I've given up on purchasing anything in a can the metallic flavors are overwhelming. What signs should I look for that would indicate the beer was not overtly exposed to the heat? Besides checking by the docks to see if cases are hanging out in the sun.

Sours and wild ales are a bit better in the heat.

Skunking should only be an issue if beer is left in direct light, heat does not do beer any favors but it does not lead to skunking. Todays beer cans are sufficiently lined as to not impart any metallic flavors, unless you're drinking from the can, anything you taste is likely more perception than reality.

If you are concerned about exposure, and not a fan of cans, I would stick to cases or enclosed packaged 12 packs. Buy refrigerated options when possible, always refrigerate you beer immediately.

Miami beer tastes pretty good to me lately. I'm also quite sure that beer left on any loading dock here would be stolen instantaneously so I don't believe that's a common practice.

Thanks. Yeah I always refrigerate beer immediately. Idk. Just makes me sad same brand terrible after taste depending where I buy it. Also not originally from Miami and basketball is not my sport. The closest LeBron ever came to making sad was almost running over me in the jogging path at the park.

Sometimes, I've come across beers that tasted awesome but during the summer have took a dump. I believe that the distributor has let the product come into a varying degree of temperatures and I believe I have read on here and other articles which I cannot remember where I read them, are a factor in the tastes of some styles of beer. I believe ipa's are one of those beers TheDrewniak which if you have wild swings of temp, it can really affect the taste. We are in Florida where we are seriously hot. Those beer trucks may hold a temp, but between where they arrive and get to their destination at your fave beer store, they are taking some temp swings. I am only assuming this is the problem of course. Please don't badger me.
