What I meant to say is: Anyone had Hotbox from Oscar Blues? Never thought I would like a Coffee IPA, but I do. Haven't been to their website yet, but any gouge on what's in it would be appreciated. Cheers
Here's some info on how they brewed the coffee that goes into it: https://www.brewbound.com/news/oskar-blues-hotbox-roasters-introduces-canned-nitro-cold-brew-coffee They also use Simcoe hops: http://allaboutbeer.com/oskar-blues-hotbox-coffee-ipa/ According to: https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...05d3c21f7cf_story.html?utm_term=.2e6f17830cce "Oskar Blues’ Hotbox Coffee IPA is made by blending an West Coast-style IPA with a cold-brew extract made with Ethiopian coffee beans. (Oskar Blues)" So, just brew a typical West Coast-style IPA using Simcoe hops, and add the coffee brew extract as explained in a previous link.
Sounds like they also changed their water profile (to more chloride) Thanks for the info...I liked the smooth, nuanced coffee flavors coupled with the IPA...not something I thought I would like though...definitely a different take on a coffee beer.
I've never tried it although I did try an expresso-coffee whisky recently that was quite good (Oops - we are not supposed to mention anything other than beer).
