Ah, ok, that's probably what I'm remembering.

I have a magnum of batch 23 Fred (from 1999) that probably needs to be opened sooner than later. Batch 1 of Adam was '94.

Word has it it's just a novelty item at this point.

I recently hosted a tasting in Seattle that Alan was at. Everyone at the tasting was able to try:
Fred batch 1 (1994) - Held up quite well.
Fred from the Wood (Unreleased batch 1, 1994) - Crazy Oaked and a little soured almost.
Adambier batch 5, (1994) - Not soy saucey but a bit oxidized.
Eve batch 1 (there are 2 batches of Eve, 1997) - Fantastic.
Adam from the Wood batch 1 (Adam brewed in 1994, Bourbon barreled til' 2002) - Not as good as batch 2 but held up really well. Just a bit thinner and less bourbon flavor (from aging).

I really didn't think Adambier batch 5 was bad but it was definitely not a beer to hold onto that long. I really like Adam 3-5 years old.

We had a four year vertical of Doggie Claws a few weeks back and I wouldn't waste time or money cellaring it. Not much changes.

    Interesting. The hops don't fade?

Sure, a little. But not enough to spend $5 a bottle to find out. Not when you can get 6 Bigfoots for the price of 2 Doggie Claws.

I was wrong, they only had the limited beers available. Not complaining here though someone picked up some Fred from the wood and Matt for me. No magnums though. I'm looking forward to trying them.

I have had both Adam & Fred as old as '07, they were both delicious! I would never pay $75 for a bottle though, regardless of what it is.
