I see this quite a bit in FT threads. Aren't these pretty easy to find? I pick up one or two a week of the 2011 vintage.
They don't distribute all that much and they're really popular...you live in Cali, be grateful you do.
Yes they're available around the release. HotD though only distributes to a few states so those that get them see the bottles while the majority that don't never do.
the last time i had this was as an extra in a trade over a year ago. i was about to have it again when my friend took a recent trip to LA, but it got destroyed by fedex (along with bruery smoking wood, several deschutes beers, oude tart, some other stuff). doggie claws is a rare treat out here in the east.

I gave out a doggie claws as an extra as well in a recent trade. They go for around $5 + tax here. 2011 vintage is pretty much all gone by now though. I think they come out in fall/winter time.
I picked up 4 yesterday at 5.99. I imagine they may only be around for a few more weeks. I'll be sure to snatch up quite a few.
