My buddy (who doesn't trade) has a bottle of cellared Rose Batch 34 and wanted to see if I can trade it for something he hasn't tried before. It looks like this bottle has to be at least 8 years old. It was discontinued in 2005 and according to the reviews, there has been batch 40 and perhaps newer. I am guessing this botttle is probably around 10 years old or so. Here is the link to the beer profile -> http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/173/1682 I was wondering what kind of trade I could pull with it. Any input will be appreciated. Joe
you should ask your buddy what he hasn't tried before, and include that info(:. honestly, i would imagine that a discontinued 10yr old tripel would get more mileage in terms of "seat at tasting" than direct trade. might interest people already familiar with rose i guess.
Thanks for the tips. Yeah my friend doesn't trade at all, but he has buddies in CO and IN that send him things. So pretty much anything is a go. He really likes founders, so I thought maybe this could land a FMB (he's never tried) or a few KBSs (probably his favorite).
I had quite a few of these I sent out as extras as more of a novelty than anything. The offers I got for a couple of the bottles were for limited local releases and a couple of the non hyped releases. KBS and Frangelic shouldnt be a problem but I think anything more than that youd have to find the right person or its a stretch.
