I always stay over at the Shilo Inn. It's a solid, decent hotel that is fairly affordable and not far from the downtown area. It's not close enough for you to walk to anything, but Bend is a pretty small town, and the Inn is no more than a 10 minute drive to places like Crux, Bending Brewing, Boneyard, Dechutes, etc. Might be closer to a 15 minute drive to get over to Good Life, Growler Guys and the like...

McMennamin's Old Francis hotel and pub is a fun place to stay. Walking distance to downtown, Bend Brewing, Deschutes, Boneyard, and even Crux.

I stayed there when I was in Bend. Was definitely fun. It has 2 little pubs (one of which has shuffle board which I enjoy) and some outdoor seating. As mentioned, it is easy enough to get around town from there.

Econo lodge is cheap and walking distance to crux, boneyard, silver moon, platypus pub and the downtown area. They recently remodeled it so the beds are fairly new & quite comfortable. Dog friendly

Yeah, there's a little strip of chain motels that are a 15ish minute walk from downtown. That's where I've stayed in the past. If all you need is a bed, a shower, and some towels, they're just fine.

Along NE 3rd street is a Days Inn, the next street takes you under 97 and the railroad tracks, right to Silver Moon, which is on the edge of downtown.

I liked the Phoenix Inn when I was last in Bend. Was close enough to walk to Crux, Deschutes and Boneyard to name a few.

I've stayed there. While it's nothing fancy, it was clean. It's a bed and a shower, and as mentioned, very close to downtown. It's probably only like $80-90 a night, which is great if you don't plan to spend a lot of time there, or don't want to shell out $200/night for the St. Francis.

AirBnB is probably another good option, though sometimes those places want you to stay multiple nights.

I stayed at the Royal Gateway when I was there last month. It's crappy, but for $55/night is was good enough.
