Gonna be in town with the wife for a few days. Are there any events or releases going on around town these days? Also, saw the pdf of Texas breweries and the hours and what not. Do Texans just not go to breweries Mon-Weds or during lunch hours Thurs and Fri?? Saint Arnold seems to be the only one with any kind of extended hours. This just seems odd coming from Seattle I suppose. Would love you know the good bottle shops in Houston proper too. Always interested in IP trades for JK beers. I have CS Reserve, Cascade, Upright, SNR10, Logsdon, Bottleworks XV...
Here are the breweries: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...huejhCSDZ5TllveFZsX0toTXc&usp=drive_web#gid=0 As far as brewery hours - it is originally due to Texas beer laws but that has changed in the recent past. More taprooms are opening for longer.

You definitely come from a place that has a far more advanced beer culture. Hopefully, we'll get there too in the near future!
Well there are not any real brewpubs in town outside of League of Extraordinary Brewers. It has only been very recently that breweries in Texas can even sell beers for on site consumption in the first place. So a lot of breweries are just not equipped to serve lunch or be open for normal business hours right now. Saint Arnold's lunches are really good by the way. Anyway, Saint Arnold is releasing their Boiler Room Berliner Weisse on the 24th. It is going to be year round so it should be fairly easy to find. Beer bars to check out Cottonwood, D&T, Hay Merchant, Petrol Station, and a bunch more. If you are wanting an early lunch, or good eats and a beer Cottonwood does burger Fridays now. $10 burger and pint from 11-4 (not sure when time that ends)? They do steak night on Thursday as well. Outside of Stanton's City Bites, the best burger in town for my money. D&T and Hay Merchant both have really good steak nights on Tuesdays.
@champ103 is delusional because the actual best burger in town is at Petrol Station. And how convenient that their beer selection is incredible too.
You are delusional, and have not lived until you have tried Stanton's I'll take Cottonwood over Petrol as well. After having to send back so many burgers at Petrol for every reason (I really don't send food back, but sorry not going to eat the beard hairs, cold raw ground beef, or completely burnt beef) and after getting food poisoning about a year ago... don't think I am going to have anymore.
Oh and @nathanmiller, since when has Cottonwood not had an excellent selection? Often times I find more I want to drink there than at Petrol.
I'll take Cottonwood over Petrol as well. I will say the Rancor is awesome, but I find Cottonwood a better atmosphere for me. Feel hemmed in at Petrol. Cottonwood is the only bar that pours ABW, although not on a regular basis.
I agree that Cottonwood has a fantastic selection. I just cannot abide by any statement that says that Cottonwood's burger (though excellent, and I cannot deny that) is better than the Rancor.
They have not had any ABW for a while. They got a few kegs of Sputnik when it was first released, and maybe some Pearl Snap a while ago. That has been it that I know of. Their Kimchi Burger is another excellent option
