so my buddy and local drinking friend moved to houston few months ago. vowed to visit when I got enough points or found a great flight deal. $95 round trip direct + $30 to bring / return with some carefully packed brews in my checked bags later, I'm going. pretty pumped. never been outside layovers. the questions: what breweries to visit? restaurant recommendations? what should be the goods I bring back? wish I could fill my suitcase! and finally, what (if any) beer events going on while I'm there? I'll be out thurs jan 21st to mon the 25th. will probably go to austin twice. obviously hitting jk. really excited for the food there. hear it's awesome. thanks in advance. Dan

thanks @champ103 . my buddy has a can of black crack waiting for me. and I'm sure a trip to karbach. any good sports bars you'd recommend for the afc/nfc championship games? or any events that wk? I got few ideas so far from a little pre searching. just trying to fine tune it and not miss anything can't miss I passed over by mistake. lots of options haha. cheers.
wouldn't have posted if I didn't. though I might have been generous on the twice part. lol. we're planning for saturday. just I'll have my friends car too potentially another day when they aren't around. I live in new england. also exact same drive for me as philly or boston. maybe family road trips at a young age just prepped me better for it. *shrugs petrol station is also on the list @mdgogiants ! my buddy has sent me ideas via text few times. I guess hay merchant was actually one of his favorites so it was funny when I told him bout this thread. he has told me he went to a clown shoes event. it was actually there. go figure.
we're gonna be there all day and night at the least. I'm just not sure if spending the night. my friends wife is awesome. she dd'ed for us at our local craft beer 5k before they moved. we'll be indulging some way for sure. I've been dying to check out everything about austin. and I need at least 2 meals there lol.
If you make it to Austin check out Bangers and Craft Pride. I enjoyed Karbach's new restaurant and brewery a couple weeks ago in Houston.
