I'd like to call all of the local beer folks out to attend the final event of beer week. This is called The Draft (last year was Monsters of Beer). It's on 11/17.

There is going to be all kinds of beer from different breweries. Enjoy local chefs, craft beer, rare beer, cigars, and auctions for some cool stuff (last year they had Art Kegs and some really cool beer verticals). There will also be a bottle share as well.

Information can be found here. http://thedraftfestival.com/

This is a charity event that is a blast. If you opt into the bottle share, there will be even more opportunity to get rare beer.

If interested, message me and I'll help you out with discount tickets. The discount is good until tomorrow, so act fast. Even at full price this festival is a great time. I'm not just saying this as a volunteer, I've been as an attendee as well.

Too keep in touch about the even, you can use the following on Twitter and Facebook.

Very nice of you to offer your discount. Got my tix (from another friend on the commitee). Looking forward to it. Any idea if or when the Beer List will be "leaked"?

I haven't heard any details. They have spoiled a few things on twitter, but I honestly don't remember what they were. I did hear there will be a certain beer from a Houston brewery that people have been chasing all week with varied degrees of success that also may have been in some sort of barrel.

I suggest following the 2 twitter users I posted for the most up to date info on The Draft.

Does anyone else think its stupid to not tell everyone what is being offered? It is the deciding factor if I attend a beer festival or not. I can't even find a list of breweries of who is attending aside a list of breweries who are taking part in Houston Beer Week. When you tweet about a beer being available (Ten Fidy) that isn't anything special it makes me think this is just going to be another cash grab (Houston Beer Festival).

Yup, it's a cash grab. The charities that are getting the proceeds for this just want your money so they can be rich.

Seriously, this is an event for charity. A lot of us are volunteering our valuable time to help with this. This is not a Houston Beer Festival. There won't be fifty BMC booths littered everywhere. This is a craft beer festival.

I went last year and there was a lot of good beer. It was well worth the price of entry. I got to talk a lot of craft beer, enjoy music, try some great food, and have an enjoyable day. Well worth it.

And if you don't think Ten Fidy is a special beer, you must not like good beer. How often do you see Ten Fidy on draft? It's usually once a year and it goes fast. Point in case, I tried to get some last night at Saucer Sugar Land and was told it was sold out by 5pm.

This is not going to be a rare beer tasting (although the bottle share, should you choose to attend that, should provide harder to find beers), but rather a beer festival. Knowing the planners of the event, and what they've gotten in the past, there will be some neat beers at the main event.

While Ten Fidy may be somewhat difficult to find on draft, it can be found in stores almost year round in cans. I just don't understand how keeping the beer list 'secret' does anything to help get people to attend. As an example, the Houston Beer Festival kept their VIP beer list a 'secret' and ended up being a complete joke and in no way justified the price.

But yeah bro, I don't like good beer.

It says "Rare and exquisite beers for discerning tastes." on the website? "Your favorite local and national breweries" but doesn't say which? Its great that you know the planners of the event, and what they've gotten in the past, but I don't.

I don't have an electronic list of breweries, but I can type one out later.

Breweries like to bring special casks of beer to this event. There will be good beers. If I knew what there was, I'd tell you, but I don't. What I do know is that The Draft is a great beer festival.

Rarity of beer depends on the individual. There is plenty of stuff that I've had on many occasions and may not be exciting to me, but may be everything another person could hope for. Even though I've had a ton of things, there will be beers I am excited to try.

Expectations should be realistic based on the fact that it is a large scale charity beer festival.

I think it's in poor taste that you are trying to put down a charity event for not being what it was never meant to be.

Stop worrying about rare beers. This s a great event. The first MOB had three breweries that had not even opened in Texas yet, (Jester King, Ranger Creek, No Label). Awesome casks as well. Sorry if a great charity event that focuses on good beer in Texas with great food trucks is to boring. I wish I could make this one, will be out of town working.

Quick read through their twitter feed shows they'll have several breweries that haven't been in Houston yet like Cedar Creek, Hops & Grain, and Lakewood (although Temptress was at Beer Feast a couple weeks ago). Wouldn't surprise me if 8th Wonder is present considering they're debuting at other events during HBW. Buffalo Bayou BA Gingerbread sounds tasty.

Read up on Friday Harbour (http://www.fridayharbour.org/), the charity in which the proceeds go to. Think about the fest as a $30 donation to Friday Harbour in which you get free beer in return. Pretty awesome, IMO.

(FYI, this is not directed to wsnich, just a general post for the thread)

The brewery list has been announced, but I forgot to grab the list last night. You should start seeing some cards and posters at your favorite craft bar this weekend.

I am pretty excited about some of the beers that I have seen that will be there. There will for sure be some special stuff there.

some beers from their feed - @RealAleBrewing Cask of 4 Squared, the Highlander (there can only be One), Phoenixx and Sisyphus.

Should also mention that @stonebrewing is bringing Double Dry Hopped Sublimely Self Righteous.

I've gotten word that the special pricing will continue through tomorrow.

Go get $10 off now. MSG me for details.

    Some new info:

    • Ninfa's Navigation will be bringing food!
    • Antone's will be bringing food!
    • El Hidalguense is bringing lamb and goat tacos (which are just insanely good)
    • Richard Flores is roasting 300 lbs of pork meat for Pulled Pork Sliders
And ALL of this food is included in the ticket price (which no other beer festival does, BTW).
Beer specifics are starting to leak out on twitter and facebook so make sure you follow!

Should've looked on here before buying my tickets... Oh well. It's for a good cause. Definitely looking forward to the fest - MoB was a blast the first two years, and this looks like it'll be even better!
