    Hi all,

I may be moving to Houston in summer. It's on the list along with some other cities. I was hoping someone could fill me in on production breweries in Houston, preferably those breweries with packaging lines in place or plans to start packaging soon. BA lists just five breweries in "Houston," and one of those has just a PO box for an address. The only Houston brewery I'm remotely familiar with is St. Arnold.

    Thanks!

I think that's all right now in Houston proper... I know 8th Wonder is coming soon. No Label and Southern Star are in the area as well, but not Houston proper.

There is not much information here, but Town City Brewing is starting up "soon." I remember reading in the Chronicle several months ago that they were suppose to have beer ready in January. Though no news of that yet. anyway:

Also, that brewery with the PO box is more of a joke. Their one beer (that is not made in Houston) is called Boner. There is also a place that makes ciders, Leprechaun, if that interests you.

    All of the above plus:
Fort Bend Brewing Co. (Missouri City, TX)
    Texian Brewing Co. (Richardson, TX)

Both of those are right outside of Houston. Not sure if either are bottling right now.

You're coming to Houston at a good time. Craft beer market is exploding faster than ever. New breweries and more stores with craft brews. Spec's & HEB are good stores to find craft beer. Don't forget to bring Yuengling with you when you come, we don't get any here.

According to their website, they're opening in 2013 and last month they tweeted,
"We're pleased to announce that our period of public protest for serving alcoholic beverages is finished & our paperwork is now being filed!"

Thanks for the help guys. Breweries close to Houston are OK too, not just those in the city limits. It'd be nice if BA could add that feature to the places search. Particularly for cities on state borders, like Cincinnati, St. Louis, KC, etc, even searching for everything in Ohio won't pick up anything in Kentucky, etc.

I just remembered another one that hasn't been mentioned yet:
    Lone Pint Brewery (Magnolia, TX)

No idea where they're at with packaging though.

There is also Cycler brewery I want to say is in Montgomery. My memory is fuzzy on it, but its usually on tap at Rockwell in Cypress. They make a decent hoppy red ale.
