Houston Regular Tasting - Nov 11th - Gman

I'm actually free this Sunday. Hoping to make it.

 

Crap... can't come... Fridge delivery is during this. If they finish early (no way in hell), then I'll be there...

 

Doubt I can make it. Friend in town from out of state.

 

Just got the "ok" from the wife. Been too long.

 

I think I should be able to make this after all.

I've got a bottle or two to open. Need to see what the day is looking like.

this is just a monthly tasting, nothing official - what is the problem? isn't a beer tasting just for fun??

no one is going to see a post in the events section? a bottle share isn't an event...

every other region has exact posts like this and i don't see them being commented on?

While I agree with a few of your points, people will see it if you link it in the thread. Make it in the BA Calendar and then make a thread for the event and then link it in the thread.

 

The biggest problem with making these as an event is that they are not done by the owners of the establishment and contact info and such that is required to post an event isn't reasonable. What admin doesn't seem to get is we can't really do these as events. They are not affiliated with the venues, they are gracious enough to let us reserve a spot to do these.

This is basically just BAs getting together and sharing beers. As is, people want these to be all-inclusive events, but in reality, they aren't. They are pretty exclusive to traders.

You will have to forgive that this upsets some people. It does feel like maybe "big brother" just wants to have a record of the what, when, and where. The biggest issue with making these events though is that the people who announce these here, really do not have authority to make it event. Nobody actually involved does. It gets posted in the forums just to get word out to those who want the word.
