I live in Chicago and have a friend who recently began working in Houston. I'm looking for suggestions of beers I should request from him. What would you say are the best beers/breweries available down there that I may not be able to find in Chicago? So far I've received Bishop's (7, 8, & 9), BA Hellfighter, Yellow Rose, Myrcenary, Big Bad Baptist, Bible Belt and Apple Brandy Noir. I would love to try some more of the awesome beer the Southwest has to offer!
Lots of great Texas summer beers coming out... ask for some stuff from Real Ale.... Karbach Weisse Versa and Staycation.. Have him send a Growler or Crowler of Live Oak Hefeweizen... which is one of Texas favorite beers. Heck, almost anything he can get you from Live Oak is a good idea. If he can get you any of the Hops and Grain beers out of Austin that would be cool. The One They Call Zoe is one of my favorite beers for everyday enjoyment.
Every Bishop Barrel release is good, 10 just hit today. For more regular drinking stuff I recommend anything from Jester King, Saint Arnold Endeavor, Oasis Metamodern session IPA, and Independence Red Bud.
