Im new to BA and trading for beers. Im doing a beer scavenger hunt and some beers are rare while are some regional and then of course some are both. I live in the Tampa Bay area and there are a number of breweries in the area. Most of these breweries are big in to IPAs.
You live in Tampa. Cigar city and Cycle are great places to get started. Also this http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/getting-started-trading-is-tough.342511/
A little more in depth. Jai Alai will get you lots of IPA's from other regions $4$ wise. If you want to go after Zombie Dust, Pliney, maybe Heady Topper, and countless other quality IPA's, this is a great place to start. When they announce Huna day at CCB this upcoming March, buy a ticket. You will have a great day sampling beers from all over the country and will go home with a few bottles of one of (if not the) best imp adjunct stouts in the world. Keep a couple and trade a couple. Follow all the breweries in your area on social media. When you hear about a release, go there and buy them. Don't be a dick and bring 5 people to snatch up more, but if the limit is 3, buy 3, keep 1, trade 2 People are always looking for Cycle stouts. They are amazing beers and trade very well. Good luck. If I lived in the Tampa area I would have a hard time trading anything away because there are so many good beers to be drank down there
