A slow day at work (rainy day at a golf course) has got me thinking. Do you buy four/six packs? Do you buy singles or bombers? Do you spend a bunch of money at once? Do you buy one beer at a time? The questions are endless. I'm just kind of curious. For me, I almost exclusively buy four/six packs, mostly due to my OCD/obsession with seeing beautiful rows of beer in my fridge. If I don't like a beer, I keep it until guests come over or work my way through them over a couple weeks. I also tend to spread out my purchases for some reason, sometimes going to two or three stores. Weird, but it's how I roll.

I try to buy 4/6 packs cause they cheaper and I prefer to only have to commit to 12 ounces at a time. About half the beers I drink though only come in bombers or are hard to find in 4 packs

It depends on how the beers I dig are packaged...

Btw, I also "do the rounds" to the 3 good stores in town.

4 and 6 packs mostly. Do throw single/bombers in every now and then but not a good apraoch for the money.

Recently a group at work has been splitting cases so we have been getting a full case with 3 each of 8 different beers. That has been working out but having so much beer and variety causes me to go through much faster.

I buy 4/6 packs, bombers and 750's mostly. On occasion singles, but around me the singles selection really blows! Sometimes it's a 4-pack and 3 bombers, 2 sixes and a 750, one bomber, or any combo depending on what has come in in the last few days. My main distro knows to call me when something new and cool shows up.

Wait, I thought you just peruse the aisles and leave without making a purchase

I buy mostly bombers/750's because I like to try different styles. I also homebrew so for everyday type beers I typically have about 5 gallons at a time.

buy from mainly 3- 4 stores i like to buy mix sixers but buy sixers/ 4paks of my favorites like alpha king , gumballhead tank 7, also buy seasonal release's of bombers and 750ml's, it all depends on the release and the availability regardless of the size or package

I try to buy a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada for the week and get a "special" bottle on the weekend.

But lately I've been buying too much..

I usually check out about 2-3 different shops once a month. I will usually buy 2 six or four packs. One that I know and enjoy and one that I want to try. I will usually buy 2 bombers of interesting and strong beers. Once every two months I go to a local brewery to buy two cases of my favorite beer because it is hard to find in the stores near me.

I don't always buy beer, but when I do, I prefer four/six packs.

Obviously 4/6 packs are more economical, but a lot of breweries don't put everything they brew in packs, only in bombers or 750s. So I often buy large format bottles despite the cost because I just can't get that stuff in 12oz bottles.

Mostly bombers and 750s and watch them sit there. Drinking them occasionally.

I got to my store every Fri. after work.
I spend about $25-$30 on whatever looks good, it's usually a mix of 6/4 packs and bombers.

I love to sample different beers, then review them on BA. If I come across a favorite, I get a couple of that one. There're so many great beers out there, one can never stop sampling. We have a cool beer store in Madison, MS (Hops and Habanas) that sells singles by dividing into the sixer. Whenever they get new stuff in, I usually check it out. If it's good, there's always room for more. When we get this damn ABV raised (soon, I hope) there'll be more reasons to shop local instead of out of state.

I have pretty much stopped buying large format bottles, even if it's something I can't get in a four/six pack. I just can't justify the price. Too many other beers in more economical formats. I will buy the occasional Lagunitas bomber, but that's hardly expensive.

Depends on my financial situation and what is new in town. I spent over $250 today restocking my beer fridge which had become depleted from a bad February (financially). If I can buy a specific beer in a 4 pack instead of a bomber I will because it's almost always a better bargain. I just buy what interests me and usually only buy singles if a trade partner wants a specific beer that doesn't interest me. I really don't put much thought to it...

Anyone ever find themselves holding off on one beer (for various reasons), only to find themselves purchasing it at a different store later on the same day? I seem to do this often, like I need additional justification or motivation to pull the trigger.

I usually stick to sinlges and bombers as I'm relatively new to this whole beer thing. Allows for more variety, but at a higher cost I know. I stick to a few bottles a week. I tend to vary up which store I go to.
Styles have a lot to do with whether I buy a single or a 6 pack also. A pack of porter will sit for almost the whole week as I will usually just do one a day or every other day. I'll be more apt to pick up a 6er of an IPA.
