Most of my bottles are in my bar fridge, but the overflow are in a closet off of my bar area. I recently started to rebuild the back side of my bar and added some tiered shelving for these additional bottles.

That looks thoroughly wicked. Perhaps you ought to build in one false panel which, when removed, exposes the switch which opens the false wall into your lair? Just a thought.

I just save any Bruery or Sierra Ovila boxes and store them in my utility room. I also keep all of my stuff that I don't plan on drinking for a couple years at my parents house in their basement since they don't drink.

I live in a century old farmhouse that has an old meat locker in the basement which is the best cellar I could ever ask for - 56 year round.

I keep a stack of cases in the storage unit in the basement of my apartment building. It stays pretty cool year round, and in the winter it's absolutely perfect. I definitely need to work on organizing it, though, as for 90% of my stash I have no idea what beers are in what boxes.

At the moment I have 3 bottles of 2010 Bigfoot in a box under the stairs in my basement.

I've just started buying more beer to cellar though so I need to go down to the basement this weekend and decide what to do with a collection that will most likely be increasing rather quickly.

I've purchased Dark Intrigue, Black Ops, and Old Rasputin XIV within the the past couple of months. I was planning on drinking them by the end of March but now I'm thinking about aging those as well.

I'm going to have to invest in a temperature controlled refrigerator or chest freezer pretty soon. I really built up my collection at the end of 2011 between a bunch of releases and trading. I don't have any great places to store it so it's split up all over the place. I've got 5 or 6 cases in a small closet that stays in the 50's in the winter but I have to get everything out of there by summer as it'll probably be in the 70's. Then I've got a couple cases at a friend's house in a basement closet that is at an acceptable temperature year round. On top of that I have probably 50 bottles in my main refrigerator and finally I have my most prized bottles in a mini-fridge that stays in the mid 40's on it's lowest setting. Needless to say it can be a pain in the ass to find specific bottles sometimes.

Just curious guys, I keep my beer in the basement too, but there are a few windows down there. Now the beer is in a dark corner of the basement, but some sunlight does fall on it from time to time. Will this do damage to my beer even if its not sitting in direct sunlight?

I wouldn't get too worried about that... indirect, minimal sunlight shouldn't really be an issue.

I love that Ikea box idea. I'll have to pick up a few of those. What do they run?

For now I'm just using one of those steel shelving units from Lowes. It's sagging from the weight. At least it's in the basement and a constant 55. I also have a full size fridge full of six packs and other bombers at the ready and a small wine fridge for storage of special brews prior to tasting parties. I really need to straighten up tho.
