    WootStout 3.0.
My favorite BBA stouts I have had so far are KBS, BBA Plead the 5th, Black Note, and Black Tuesday (including one offs Neapolitan BCBS was amazingly good). Non-stouts, Rye on Rye from Boulevard and BBQ from Boulevard are probably my two favorites but the brandy aged Angel's Share I had from Lost Abbey was not too far off.
EDIT: Forgot Backwoods Bastard which is heavenly.

Haha, my impression couldn't be more opposite, it tasted like cloying woody melted butter to me. Perhaps I missed something the few times I've tasted it, what did you get out of it besides... well, wood and butter?

Big Bad Baptist... start off the bomber out of the fridge and 2-3 pours into a snifter. While it slowly warms it turns from coffee forward to a perfect bourbon balance for my palate.

I strangely do not find BA beers hot or get the burn feeling from them. I enjoy Bourbon domination, but not Whiskey domination (Yes....I know, not sure how else to word that).

I am not a whiskey drinker either.

    Example of beers I like
High Westified - BA Coffee Stout
    BCBS - Reg BA Stout

Example of beer I didn't like
    Big Bad Baptist

I nice spicy fruitiness from the yeast and a delicate flavor of caramelized sugars and bourbon, faint but unmistakeable.

I think KBS did the bourbon presence perfectly for what I like

I think it should have the typical bourbon flavors - vanilla, oak, caramel, but shouldn't taste like you poured a shot of whiskey into your beer.

I think fresh Fouders KBS has it done right, same with Bourbon County Barleywine

I like my barrel aged beers with a little age on them but I will try a fresh barrel aged beer and hold one for a year or two before cracking it.

Not being a fan of actual bourbon all that much, I tend to enjoy the ones that are subtly infused ( Sea Legs, Black Butte XXVI, Big Bad Baptist, etc.). There have been a few, though, that were bourbon-forward, that I loved ( Country Boy Sinkhole Stout, Country Western 3). It's definitely dependent on the brewery and their aging techniques for me.

Personally..i think BC and KBS are overrated..but that aside..when it comes to BA beers..i like balance..if i want to taste just bourbon or whiskey..i'll have one on the rocks..but when it comes to beer.. i want the barrel to enhance the beer and give it
additional flavor,aroma,etc...without taking away from the base beer...now back to my Ozark BA Double Cream stout which is better than BC and KBS...IMO..Cheers!
