Mine is a mish mash, fairly random, although when possible(shelves are different sizes) I try to organize by brewery. I also like to display some of the nicer bottles at eye level. What's your method.

My "cellar" consists of a bunch of random wine, and beer cases in the basement. I always have fun opening boxes and being surprised by what's inside. I don't keep a spreadsheet or anything (maybe I should) but this way I'm always finding something that I forgot I had...keeps things interesting.

By style. I tag everything and I keep a spreadsheet on my phone so I know what I've got when I'm shopping.

I keep beers that I'm aging at the back or bottom of the fridge. Beers that need to be consumed soon are at the front.
I tried to arrange it by brewery before, but it was a PITAS to keep up with.

I'm assuming you have a dedicated fridge for beer that is set to a higher temp?...

I have a spreadsheet to track what I have, but as for the actual bottles? Complete random...which is why it takes me ten minutes to find what I want.

Mostly by style, but it doesn't always work out... So there's a lot of mish-mash. And, I only have one shelf space that is tall enough for the corked bottles, so all corked bottles go there no matter what.

It is fun to organize them, though. :-)

    Size, then brewery.

I separate them by amount I intended on ageing them. I put the ones I plan on drinking near term in a box on the floor. Long term aging projects go in a cabinet in random order.

I organize to create the best/most efficient use of space, e.g. to be able to fit as much cellared beer into my fridge as possible while maintaining stability aka not having everything tumble out whenever I open the fridge.

Wine storage locker - I keep stuff here for longer term storage.
Wine cellar in the basement - I keep most of my Cantillon in here set at 50 degrees
Beer cellar in basement - everything else. Organized by brewery (Oregon on one side, rest of the country/world on the other side)

Mine is just piles of boxes raised off the floor in my brother's basement. I have no need/desire to display or show it off. Not really organized but I don't really have that much stuff so I pretty much know where everything is.

By style. By brewery within the style. With things I intend to age longer at the back and things "up to bat" towards the front.
I'm fairly OCD and love organizing my babies and thinking of all the great nights ahead.

I tend to group breweries, but it's more idiosyncratic than that.

It depends on the composition. Right now, I have my rarest stuff in 1 box; then a bunch of stouts in another; and everything else in the other 2 boxes. 1 of those last 2 boxes is for longer-term storage stuff, and that box sits in the furthest reaches and darkest corner of the closet.

mine is borderline random. I have a mini fridge set up with the more rare options, and the bottles rated higher on my personal list. then I have boxes surrounding said fridge, based on region.

Pretty interesting to see more votes for cellaring by style than by brewery. Almost every store I've ever been to is set up by brewery, only 1 I can recall is by style and is very fun to shop at. As I suspected the winner is a somewhat random order which makes sense when most of us I assume have things going in and out of the cellar regularly. Maintaining a tight order can be difficult with so much turnover.

By style & brewery I guess. All my sours/stouts are together but I also have some breweries I keep together (3 Floyds, Bruery, etc) They are all in boxes under my staircase...
