My first step after joining was to tour the educational section topics, Beer 101, Styles, and Respect Beer :sunglasses: .
Second step was to print out the Top Beers, so I could keep an eye out for them (I've only had 13 of them so far :slight_frown: ).
From that point on, I've reviewed every new beer I've tried (since October of 2010, 176 (as of this post :grinning: )) and the 5 places I bought them.
I also use the site for information, like to identify beers I'd like to try, and check out the forums to see what's up  .

keep up on the brew world.

Check general review scores for beers I'm interested in

Add something to my "had" list.

Secretly go through the forums gathering information.

First thing I do is check my notifications and see all the new likes I have received.

Forums are my main use for the site. Everything else is used much less frequently.

I usually check the forums to see what people are talking about. Besides daysinthewake, I don't really have any one in my day to day life that I can talk to about beer.

I log reviews mostly for the hell of it when I have time; I have way more reviews written down than I've actually posted.

I've made some trading relationships which is exactly what I wanted from the trading forum. Between my three regular traders, I can get anything I want.

I check reviews occasionally to see what people think of a beer I'm drinking or thinking of buying.

I guess I use this site a lot, but I'm mostly checking on the forums.

I immediately check what people have to trade! I have became addicted to trading. Done over 30 trades in the last 4 or 5 months!! Spend the rest of the time just looking around all the other fourms. like right now!

Rempo hit the nail on the head. BA is a great lulz generator.

I spend the most time either on the forums or looking at different beers in the BA database.

    Good thread.

    1 log onto forums-->check regional threads-->check celler/aging-->general forum
2 use BA to research beers I've not heard of that people mention
3 browse top beers by category
4 while at bottle shop use it to see reviews of beer I'm thinking about buying (I spend wayyyyyyyy too long at store)

just to echo some of the previous posts... definitely kill time at work, goes without saying  . but aside from reviewing i mainly like to see what's coming down the pike in terms of new releases; breweries expanding, entering new (or pulling out of old) markets; and any other hot topics generating chatter, especially in my regional forum (NE). occasionally i might have a specific question that i'll search for. also a great way to tune out the riffraff while on the subway during my commutes.
