How does a DIPA get wild popularity?

Can anyone please share the names of these amazing IPA's flying under the radar? I'd love to try them out!

 

I'm clearly critical of over hyped beer, but how are you going to claim something isn't that great when you've never tried it AND then you use Odell IPA as your best IPA benchmark?

 

Instead of trying to be cute by sarcastically asking over and over, read the thread as there's been a bunch of them mentioned.

 

Haha! I think you might just be looking for an argument. If you don't have any recommendations, that's cool.

 

Also inclement weather and rugged terrain (Ie. Rain, snow, mountains, windy roads, low speed limits, etc)

 

Tell me what's wrong with this benchmark?
I'm assuming the only possible reason being that this thread is about DIPAs and not IPAs.

IPA/DIPA that is fantastic, isn't difficult to find when it's released and something you don't have to wait in line for.

I've tried Odell IPA multiple times, it's incredibly average at best. Granted that's one person's opinion but at least I've tried it (and hundreds of IPAs just like it) and the beers being discussed as over hyped here.

Therefore if Odell IPA is your benchmark for world class IPA (I don't bother nitpicking between IPA/DIPA/TIPA) PLUS you've never even tried the new style NE IPA that's being referenced, I don't really see how you can expect your opinion to hold weight here.

 

The whole point, which it seems was lost, is that just because there are more voters in the SE United States does not mean that SEC football is the best. Just like the incredible NE/East Coast bias that exists on this site, which doesn't really bother me until people pretend like it doesn't exist... I suppose trying all of BBB's offerings doesn't count here either
