I think can shapped glasses are cool looking and IMO there is a benefit to drinking some beer styles from these glasses (e.g., moderately hopped ales).

Below are some photographs of glass shapped glasses; one with my homebrewed English Bitter Ale and the other with Sixpoint Gose.

    @Sixpoint @augiecarton

    Cheers!

They look neat, but never had the desire to buy one.

I found a coca cola branded one at a thrift shop once and picked it up. I like it. It works well with APA and IPA.

They used to in the US. :grinning: One glass bottle mfgr's specific design for a US style stubby was dubbed a "glass can" (below, from a Pabst ad). As noted below in a snip from a Texas store's ad, the throw-away glass cans were cheaper than metal cans but not as cheap as the reusable deposit bottles.

A survey would have been useful here.

My vote = Dislike, gimmicky, last glass I would choose from the cupboard.

Isn't this the same type of bottle that Full Sail is using for their Session line of beers?

I love can glasses. Aside from the fun factor, the lip at the top does retain the head a little more than a pint glass AND it is nice and smooth to drink from. Besides, who doesn't like crushing cans? Just don't smash these on your head when finished.

Nope. They use the classic "Stubby" design - slightly different shoulder/neck. "Glass cans" also had a ½" textured area around the base and shoulder (can see it in pic below). In the US there were a number of different designs of "stubby-ish" sort of bottles, from various glass manufacturers. At least some of the "glass cans" were manufactured by Latchford Glass Co., based on the embossed logo on the base.

Let's be honest here....it's a glorified glass jar.

I received the "Das Can" ones as a gift. I do like them. I'd say I drink water out of them more often than beer, but I agree that it beats a shaker pint glass or drinking out of the bottle/can (depending on the beer). I'd say it depends on the beer you're pouring.

I love my can glass, and after only a Perfect Pint, I use it all the time. I've sipped many different styles out of them, and I think they present most styles quite nicely. Not sure I get the hate, or the insistence that they're simply a gimmick. They may have started like that, but they're actually quite good for pourin' and sippin'.

I feel great about the can glass. It holds beer, I can drink from it. And it's less apt to tip over compared to taller glasses. Plus I am not a glassware snob so that too.

I like them....have a couple in my collection

Kind of cool, not my favorite / everyday kind of glass, but fun to have and use on occasion!

    To each their own!

Don't care for them. Give me a nonic if I'm going to use a non-stemmed piece of glassware.

I purchased one from Proclamation a few weeks back, mainly to support the business. But it does look cool and I do use it, especially when drinking from growlers.

I doubt I'll ever get another glass anytime soon

    I have:

kind of a tulip pint glass from Founders
Founders snifter (bought with the pint glass)
    Duvel tulip
large snifter that's like 29 oz (perfect for whole bombers)
    Chimay chalice
    weizen glass

I dunno what purpose any other glass would have to me

I've had a few beers out of them and the only thing I don't like is there's not much in the way of headroom at the top. Beers that need some room to grow tend to overflow a little. They do look cool though.
