How does your avatar affect your online interactions?

We have next to no square footage of water and yet every asshole here owns a boat. It silly. I have family in Minnesota and my most recent travels took me to Olympiaish. Going to places that have water REALLY makes it a silly pissing contest.

Women will be the first to tell you you how viciously competitive some women can be, so I suppose they could be trying to avoid being challenged/harassed by other women. My wife was let go once by a female line manager infamous for eliminating successful women.

Mine is of my favorite beer from the beer garden of my favorite brewery. What amuses me at the moment is that it appears I was completely alone when I took the picture.

 

I used to like every post by the two users that had the album cover for In Rainbows by Radiohead as their avatars. I wonder what ever happened to them...

 

I've had the same one for years... that jack o lantern scared the hell out of my kids....didn't see a reason to change it

 

Mine makes me laugh, no other specific reason for it.

I don't give much thought to other peoples' avatars unless they also make me laugh.

 

I'm too lazy to change my avatar, but I believe mine is a graphic from a Jimmy Castor album.

 

Mine is me on top of Mt Monadnock in NH, which I hiked with my son’s Boy Scout troop a few years back.

 

Though curious, until just now, I never got around to finding out what it meant.(I agree) When I find out what some trending thing is, I usually regret adding that extra bit of trivial clutter, to the already large pile.

Avatars don't affect anything for me, other than quick recognition of the BA. Yours,cavedave's, & zid's, for example. Re Snowcrash's current avatar, I didn't look closely at it at first, & just thought it was some clip art vampire.

My avatar is my photo of the 9/27/15 eclipse. I joined not long after that. I was scrolling through my photos looking for something to use, & there was a copy of that, that was already cropped & re-sized,(why? -) so went with it. Doesn't mean anything. I just like it . *shrug*

Ah....I imagined it as some guy who couldn't wait til he got home, didn't give af, & drank it right there. (Expected that was probably aspirational, rather than actual.)

Coincidentally one of my favorite members here is LGBT and pro-feminist. Her posts make me genuinely laugh out loud sometimes and except for her name you would never guess she's a chick.

 

My wife's uncle likes to make birthday pics with photoshop, this is my favorite, if only I looked so good in real life! I must admit, I would have preferred brunettes.
