Too far is when they brew a beer that says "brewed with artificial beer flavor". But seriously tho, I think top notch breweries will release beers to the public not for their novelty factor, but cuz they taste damn good.

So, you are wondering why on earth Belgium made witbiers? And... you think the Belgians who invented witbiers using "abnormal" ingredients like coriander and orange peel... are in the wrong job? Ouch.

In my experience, beers of all styles, sub-styles, and beers-that-don't-fit-into-any-particular-style have been hit and miss, though I have found that some of the more "out there" ones have been especially bad.

In my opinion this beer went too far: http://twistedpinebrewing.com/blog/brews/timberline-seasonals/ghost-face-killa/

Does this exist? This could be awesome!, peanut butter and creamy marshmallow in a nice stout. If its not made, it should be.

You could get kinda close (though there's chocolate and graham cracker, too) by blending Short's S'more Stout and Uber Goober...

If they brew uber goober again I will try, but existing bottles are infected and gross. Thanks for the idea, it could be a future mix for me.

To me, flavored beers (including bbl. flavoring) are just a novelty and something I can enjoy once in a while if the correct balance of flavors are there and I'm in the mood for those flavors.

Yet at the same time, I think craft beer in general is going a little overboard trying to get their beers recognized by its unique ingredient list - which many times seems as if they were chosen using the dartboard method instead of being well thought out and/or developed over time.
