It trades $4$ for other quality shelf beers. Beer Trading General help forum is where this belongs though.

It will trade for solid locals $4$, for example FFF Zombie Dust, Founders locals. If you went way above $4$ and offered your $60 worth of PtE for say a $15 BCBS Bramble or maybe a 4 pack of KBS someone might do it because getting 12 at once is hard unless near the brewpub. For example in SD most stores are limit 2 so it is a pain in the ass to get 12. The key is trade it fast because some people here think it's skunked in 23 hours! =)

PTE is a easy get brew, but... who doesn't love Pliny? Easier to deal with East Coast BA's like me. Solid Locals would be the deal. Agree on the volume, it ups the deal quite a bit, it's hard to get more than 3-4 at a time.

You hit the jackpot. You could probably land all the whales in Chicago with that haul.

Just so you know, people will want to know the bottling date for your Pliny. Fresh is good. Months old is not. Why not drink a few of these delicious brews and think about spreading the wealth instead of in terms of making beer profit?

I agree with the DRINK IT. If it's fresh Pliny you'll enjoy the hell out of it.

He never indicated anything that sounded even remotely like profiteering to me... He just found some beer and wants to know if it's something people trade for.

Trades great for other locals, but freshness is important. Especially if those weren't bottled in the last week, you probably want to get moving on trading them immediately.

The fact that you came across them might bring their value down a bit...

You should easily be able to score things like Vanilla BA Dark Lord, King Henry, Ann, Kate The Great, etc. because it's listed higher on the top beers. Trade away!

Trade em fast and try some great locals from other regions of the country. I got my feet wet by trading lots of fresh Pliny.

It's a commodity. Limited distribution coupled with a great beer means there's always a market for fresh Pliny. But it's not exactly low production, so there's always a supply on the trade market. So figure out what you want, preferably in the same category, and ask for it. Just don't kid yourself about how difficult Pliny is to acquire.

Totally agreed. I would compare Pliny to Founders Breakfast Stout in supply, only year round, which makes it more likely to sell out early into distribution. But there's always more.
