I've posted in a couple threads today about this morning's score at my Wegmans (six Ruin Ten at $7.99 each and six 120 minute IPA) and read a thread about Costco. I find Wegmans awesome! Its where i got my BCBS, BCBCS, and BCBBW last year and my daily /weekly go to for Flower Power, Jai Alai, and almost everything else. They have all your daily drinkers and many special releases. Who else does most of their beer shopping at Wegmans?

    Depends on the Wegmans.

The Wegmans by my brothers house (near phoenixvilla PA) has an awesome selection.

My local Wegmans here in NJ, not so much. Nor did the Wegmans in the previous town I lived in in NJ.

I miss Wegmans, not just for beer which they have an awesome selection of but for everything. Awesome store. I worked near one for a while in Ithaca NY.

that's why I ask as well. Our local State college store gets nothing special in ever it seems.. I hear stories of folks hitting a score at stores like this but never seems to be similar here in SC...

    This.

The Wegmans in Manalapan is mediocre, where as the Wegmans in Ocean has much more interesting stuff usually, and I'm not sure why this is.

Both stores pale in comparison to some other local shops though.

I'm familiar with that Wegamns. Lived in Freehold at the time it opened maybe 12-13 years ago. As you said, it's mediocre. My parents live in Marlboro, so every once in a while I still get to stop in there. Nothing special.

Next I moved to Princeton back in 02. That Wegmans (Lawrence) was quite good for a while, but waned as the years went on. Still drop in sometimes. It's meh.

Now I live out by the Flemington Wegmans. It's very hit or miss. Stumbled upon a few nice things there from time to time. But it's few and far between.

Never been to the Ocean Wegmans.

The Wegmans by my brothers in PA is amazing. Lol...

On the off chance Manalapan gets something interesting it'll sit there for a while. Ocean is different, not a great selection but whoever does their buying knows his/her beer, though things disappear quickly. It's still the only place in the area where I actually found Utopias to this day, and that's going back the decade since I've been into craft brews. Unfortunately, Ocean is also the place you'll find a year+ old green bottle of Saison Dupont, on the top shelf, directly under the bright lights.

Best places around here are still your Spirits, Court, occasionally Whole Foods, but Wegmans in Ocean is always one of my regular stops, though I don't always buy something.

Cool, you got those RuinTen's for normal price. I assume the 120mins were like 10-11ish each, yes? The Wegmans I go to in Mechanicsburg seems ok. Some of the sixers are priced correctly.. some are overpriced. They have Springhouse bombers so, that's cool. And a mix-a-six section with a decent variety. Eh, ya know. *shrug*

I go to the same Wegmans.........you NEVER know what you will find. I found some Stone Enjoy By there this weekend for $6.99. Recently they had 120 Min for $9.99 and They had a bunch of Founder's Double Trouble. I met someone there that said he has bought Bourbon County there.......Now that I haven't seen.

Love Wegmans. The ones in Harrisburg and Williamsport have great selections for PA stores.

man, wegmans is in maryland, and is great for food, but maryland grocery stores do not sell alcohol. you guys are all lucky-that would save time. and seems like thet have good selections as well.

I buy a decent amount there because you can get a sixpack or one bottle if you want. Regarding the special releases, they are getting some great special stuff now. Last year I got BCBS, Juliet, and the other special release GI sours and just today I just picked up some Mirror Mirror. I shop in Malvern by the way.

I go to different ones. But my constant favorite is Collegeville. But now I need to re-check Malvern.

I have several within 15 minutes of my house and can usually find something good. FBS and dirt wolf in the mix six end cap for $9.99 most of the year and one of them (in a "smaller" town) regularly has BCBS and BCBW 4 packs on the shelf for $20.99.

It's not the BEST place in town for beer but it certainly beats out most of the other places when price and selection are taken into account.

Northern Virginia (Fairfax) - good for fancy groceries. Good for relatively undiscerning beer drinkers. Underwhelming for active beer enthusiasts. They have a pretty large selection of beer, but nothing unusual or impressive, just standard shelf beer. It actually seemed like they put more care into their beer selection before they relocated the beer section (if you know the store you know what I'm talking about).

Anybody familiar with the selection at Wegmans in Bridgewater, NJ? I'm moving to the area next month and was happy when I found out there was one nearby.

It really is crazy how much different they can be from store to store. The one here in Mechanicsburg is a giant pile of suck and it gets worse every time they rearrange or relocate the beer department. I don't think they guy running it has any clue about beer at all.
