How hard is it to open a beer distributor

Sitting here bored at work and this random ass thought popped into my head. My immediate area has no distributors that have any craft selections or pretty much anything other than BMC. How hard would it be to open a distributor just for local distribution? Does anyone have any knowledge on the topic? Like I said, this was a random thought that popped into my head like an hour ago so it's not like I'm seriously pursuing this at the moment.
