Arctic Panzer Wolf was bordering on too hoppy, but it was so damn good!

Ive had some brown ales that were definitely hoppier than a brown ale should be. Im sure they were hopped up because they have to pander to the hop heads to get sales.

Have yet to experience one. I'd like to try some of that Palate Wrecker, though. Heard that stuff will make you sprout back hair.

I've never had beer too hoppy but occasionally had it too bitter. Not the same thing at all.

I don't know about too hoppy but there are some brews that have just been too damn bitter. For me these are typically hoppy Rye beers like Ruthless or Red's Rye. Also Finestkind to me is just a bitter kick in the teeth.

But, I just enjoyed a bomber of Hop Stoopid at 102 ibus and found it delicious. Go figure.

    Lagunitas 420 Waldo.
Knee Deep does a 4x IPA. Forget the name.

I'd take a Blind Pig or Just Outstanding IPA over these two everyday.

Completely agree. DD and Double Crooked Tree might just be too alcoholic, but Palate Wrecker? It's WAAAAYYYY too hoppy. By far the happiest beer around, and that's not a good thing. Read how they make it - instead of water they use leftover hop wort boil or something. Palate Wrecker is gross and does just what it advertises: ruins your palate.

I feel the same way as you, there isn't anything too hoppy. I would suggest fresh Bigfoot. That stuff was near undrinkable. Think liquid pine tar. I met my match.

Went to Wet Hop Fest last year that included:

Wet Hopped East End Big Hop
    Wet Hopped Full Pint Chinooke
Wet Hopped Church Brew works something

Pints came with a hop actually in the beer. After 4 I couldn't taste a dam thing for about a day. It was wonderful.

Did you recently start getting into IPAs & DIPAs? I ask because When my hop journey began, I was always in search of hoppier and hoppier brews. Hoppier was usually most often better for me, with exception of a few.

Nowadayz, I find the 8% ABV realm to be the sweet spot for hoppy but still very balanced hoppy brews.

Definitely disagree. While balanced isn't a word I would use to describe it, I think it's a great offering. Not the Hop bomb that Palate Wrecker is.

Yes and No. I've only been into craft beer for the last year or so, but IPAs have been my favorite since day 1.

Is the beer they dry "hop" with onions?
