    Only while it's rare...

In reality, usually between 30-60 minutes for a 12 oz. A while longer for large format.

Probably anywhere from 20-40 minutes for an IPA (per glass, not a whole bomber). However, I've taken 1-4 hours to finish off a strong/sweet stout or Belgian. I definitely took about 3 1/2 hours to drain a bottle of Suede, and I have not taken less than a solid hour for a glass of BCBS.

Strength (ABV), flavor, sweetness, and improvement/degradation as the beer warms are all factors I take into account.

Haha... I've done this more than a few times myself.

I rarely let a normal 12-16 oz beer sit in a glass more than 20 minutes or so unless its a very big high abv sipper.

Lighter Wit,Lager,Pils etc beers I can drain in less than 10 for the first couple.

Even when I'm socially drinking I don't much care for a room temp beer for the most part other than the above exception. I'll often drink a beer, wait a bit and pour/order a second just so I'm not getting hammered.

Depends on the style but, probably too fast for every style.

I don't think I've ever finished a beer in as fast as 15 minutes (that's fast for me.)
If out socializing, but the company I'm with makes me nervous, I veer from sip more towards gulp.
If I've arrived home during a weeknight still haunted by some crap that went down at work, I may not drink faster but I hustle to the fridge and open one much faster.
As others said above: as a homebody who often is engaged in chill activities, the beer consumption is complementing my enjoyment of those other things and a relaxed pace is best (nursing a good beer for 30 min. isn't uncommon for me), though the pace fluctuates with adrenaline flow.

I always find myself surprised that I'm done with a beer so quickly; I guess it's because I know I can have another one shortly thereafter.
If I can only buy one of a certain style at a time, I'm much more conservative.

Strong Ales, Belgium Strong Dark Ales, Stouts, Wee Heavy - I will take 2-3 hours at times at home.

Otherwise, a bomber will take 30-45 minutes on average. A regular beer takes 15-20 minutes unless drinking with a meal which may take longer.

Very dependent on the type of beer. Just popped Sweet Repute on my own. Should take me the rest of the night. A light IPA in a 12 oz bottle probably 30 minutes but could go longer. I try to stretch things out and enjoy.

Took me 2 hrs to drink a Backwoods Bastard. An IPA takes 20-30 minutes tops.

Depends on how thirsty I am and whether its my first beer of the day, second beer, etc.

    Couple of factors. ABV, location
The higher the ABV the slower I try to drink sometimes I forget the ABV and that kicks me in the ass.
If I'm at a bar I usually drink a little slower because the beer is more expensive and I'm too busy talking with the people I'm with. At home in front of the TV I drink a little faster.

Nice thread idea! (maybe their won't be any pointless arguing....)

It definitely depends on quite a few factors for me, but my average is probably about 30-40 minutes for a 12oz bottle. I like to take my time. Of course this can be way shorter or longer. Shortest would be probably be around 1-2 minutes (of course using the word "enjoy" very loosely) and the longest I've ever taken was when me and a friend split The Bruery Fruet, which took about 2 hours.

This can all depend on what I'm doing, where I am, how much beer there is, ABV, etc. Took me quite awhile to put down Avery Momi Hiwa recently haha.

A nice IPA is enjoyed for a good 30 - 45 seconds. A world glass Growler of something like Bodhi I can stretch to about three minutes.

About 20-30 on an IPA in a 12oz bottle and about 40 minutes in a bomber. As for stouts I take up to two hours on a bomber. As it warms up you get more of the subtleties in the beer.
