How long do you wait for a response from a trade?

If you messaged him here, has he read them?

I don't think you will find a definitive answer, but one week seems like plenty of time. Especially if he has read your messages. You could shoot him a message and tell him if you don't hear back that you are going to trade with someone else if you still want to try to complete the trade. I would at the very least send a message saying that you are going to trade with someone else and explain it is due to the lack of communication and that you have been waiting to hear back.

I'd add that bad communication up front is a big red flag for me. Anybody who can't be bothered to respond in a reasonable time frame while setting up a trade is not a person I want to count on for the much more time-consuming task of assembling, packing, & shipping a box.

 

I agree. Even one week may be too long for me to wait especially if there are IPAs involved. I would give the guy like 2-3 days tops before telling him your going with someone else. If he has bad communications before u send the beers just imagine how much more stressed u will be with his bad communication after u send him his beer while yet to hear about your package. Do you really wanna be involved with traders like that? Bad communication is my #1 turn off when finding trading partners.
