I was curious how long different styles of beer can be stored? I know IPAs are better the fresher they are in most cases but how long can you cellar stouts, porters, lagers etc?

Results vary based on specific examples as well as personal preferences. My default settings:

    Stouts: Up to 4 years
    Barleywines: Up to 6 years
Old Ales: Very much depends. Up to 20 years
    Gueuze: Up to 20 years
    Saisons: Up to 3 years
    Quads: Up to 6 years
    Sours: Up to 3 years

Pale Ales, IPAs, lagers, etc: Drink within 6 months preferably.
