Anywhere from 2-4 a night, so 14-21. Some Fridays and Saturdays though can get wild.

    varies. 7-12 in 7 days, 1-2 a day, unless I'm feeling a peckish. Then it's a feast and a sixer!

My doctor asked me this question this morning. I had to lie to him. Is that bad?

This is a good point. I'll be 30 in a couple weeks, and have toned it way down the last couple years. In my early 20's I could kill a 18 pack after work every day, and not feel like crap the next day. At this point I don't think I'd even want to try. To each their own though!

That depends. Did you feel bad about lying to him?

Wouldn't normally feel bad but a friend was in from out of town and things escalated quickly last night and I was rough around the edges.

Although being a board certified physician does not make me an expert, the typical medical guidelines I've seen recommend no more than 14 alcoholic drinks per week for males. An alcoholic beverage includes a shot of liquor, glass of wine, and roughly a 12 oz bottle of ~5% beer. Lately I've been just below the cuttoff.

That is not saying that alcohol is bad for you. In fact, alcohol in moderate levels has repeatedly been shown to be beneficial to ones health. I would say not drinking alcohol is harmful, but drinking over 14 beers a week on a regular basis is also harmful.

Avg 2-4 per week. This is one reason I insist on quality; I am sure some of you have seen my posts elsewhere related to insisting on great beer. I will not waste calories or alcohol intake on crap.

    I don't drink much so when I drink a beer it's a great beer.

One bomber and one 12 ounce beer a night =
    34OZ each day X 7days =
    238OZ/12OZ =
    19.83 12ounce beers a week.
So give or take I would say about 20-25 minimum.

Glad to see some people have pretty honest totals.

I'll use a specific example, which I don't pretend must be the average of every single week. Over the past seven days, I've had 23 beers, if my Untappd check-ins are correct. Obviously, some of those are higher ABV. However, I also count a second pour from a bomber or 750 as a 2nd beer.

Thus, in a given week, I probably have anywhere from 25 to 35 legitimate servings of beer. I typically have zero servings of wine or liquor. I don't have a beer every day, but I have a beer almost every day, and most days, I have more than one. Some weeks are heavier than others, but some are also lighter.

In retrospect, last week seems to be a pretty fair indicator of my average consumption.

It's good if it's for insurance purposes. It's bad if you want a legitimate indicator of your health.

I'm honest during my physical evaluations, because otherwise there's no point in getting them done.

Usually 2-4 a day on week days and more or less on weekends, depending on my plans. There is also usually one or two days a week that I don't drink depending on my plans.

I think the real issue is my soda consumption...

I drink a lot of beer AND eat a lot of red meat. The only thing keeping me from achieving perfect health is the damn pizza and energy drinks, as well as the rum/orange juice on top of it all.
