    Hi All,
Now that I've established that natural gas is definitely a viable option for me, I'm wondering how many BTU's I should be looking into. Right now I'm just doing 5-gallon batches but I want this upgrade to allow me to step up into 10-gallon batches. I'm looking at Tejas Smokers low pressure burners. They have a 40,000 btu burner and a 100,000 btu burner. Another option I've seen people mention is a 60,000 btu Hurricane burner.

    What do people recommend?
    Thanks!!

Mine is 60,000 BTU Hurricane burner. It's up to the task of 12+ gallon boils. I built a wind screen from sheet metal. I have a feeling it would be less than capable without that. In general, bigger is better. You need to make sure your gas lines are sized correctly for the burner. if you have a line installed professionally, make sure the plumber knows what he's doing in this regard. if you're doing it yourself, there's plenty of reference material on the web.
