How many taps is too many?

How many taps can a bar have where you as a consumer still feel confident that most/all are fresh?

  1. <10

  2. 10-24

  3. 25-40

  4. 40-60

  5. 60+

    You are right about that. When I typed 90 I was thinking bottle duration. I really don't know much about how the tap differs with age.

    The more the better if handled correctly, if you aren't going to offer as much, make them good and diverse. 20+ Is a good start.

    Havn't been to a bar with over 30ish , but even if I could trust the beer to be fresh, I'm not sure I'd really be interested in going to a place that has the foot traffic to handle 100+ taps. Even a busy bar with 20ish taps can get super loud and crowded.

    I'm sure it's been said many times, but any number you can't keep fresh and with clean lines is too many.

    I don't like going to places with over 20 taps because it becomes too hard to make up my mind. Give me a few good beers to choose from and I'll be happy all night. Give me 100 and I won't be able to enjoy my beer because I'll be plagued by the thought that I should have gotten something else. That's the dark side of choice.
