No, it defines "binge drinking". Read my post again.

Tolerance AND dependence are requisite diagnostic criteria for alcoholism (in addition to craving and loss of control). Alcohol abuse (a separate disorder entirely) is obviously detrimental to one's health. Again, there is nothing "healthy" about binge drinking. Read my post again.

I think you need to read my post again.

I'll have 1 - 3 days a week with out, but on the days I drink it can range between 4 - 10 beers with an average of 6 and generally 6% or higher abv. The higher the abv, the less I'll drink in a night.

Last night was a typical evening with friends and it included 5 Central Waters Slainte, 1 1/2 New Glarus spiced ale (drank one/shared one), and shared a Palo Santo Marron.

Imbibe: You probably get this all the time, but we’ve got to ask: How much beer do you generally drink in a day?Alström brothers: On average, we each drink four beers a day. However, this average can easily increase depending on where we are and who we're with. Don't tell our doctors.

recently it's been two 4-packs of Duvel per day. Before that, it was a 12er of Dales. Good thing I bust my behind with squats and dread lifts at the gym, otherwise I'd be a fat, no muscle, porker.

Boy, I definitely feel less guilty after reading this thread.

I'm usually pretty good about keeping myself to one a night during the week, and then 2-4 on Sat/Sun.

Homebrew on tap can get you though. It's so easy to just poor "one more."

I have a session every few weeks or so and maybe a beer ( or other substitute  ) 3-4 times a week.

For me beer consumption isn't making me fat because I work out so much but it is keeping me from losing weight.

Over the past year or two I've gone from a size 38 waist down to a size 34 waist, then I stepped on the scale and was surprised to find out I was exactly the same weight I was two years ago.

If I ever got injured and couldn't work out I'd balloon up in weight if I didn't cut the beer consumption way down.

I like beer as much as the next person on here, but I like keeping myself in good shape even more, so for that reason I max myself out at 4 bottles of beer each week, and if one or two of those beers are above 10% ABV, I adjust my intake.

We totally geek out about it. We have a points system based on ABV percentages. If it's a 12oz bottle, the ABV counts flat out as points. Otherwise we divide the ABV by 12 (ounces) then multiply it by the number of ounces in the given bottle. I do about 43 points per week and my wife does 36.
