How much do you drink in one sitting?

Never more than 7 on any day of the week. 12oz, 16oz, bomber all only equal one in my eyes.

 

One-a-Day
Two at beer halls
A bomber every now and then
Three at beer events

 

What does everyone consider "1 drink".

I consider it one 12 oz. beer at 5% abv.

Using that standard, Friday and Sunday it's usually 2 - 4 beers, and Saturday around 6 - 8. Maybe upwards of 10 if there's some extensive day drinking involved due to a beer event of some sort. This is why I love well done sessionable beer.

I can have two pints of a 7% IPA at the bar. Or 5 cans of Notch Session Pils.

 

1-2 during the week, 3-5 on Saturday
a bunch of crappy Bud Light at my shithole after work bar on Friday, and watching the Bills games on Sunday

 

Who counts? You count? Stop being so anal, you'll live longer. OK, maybe not longer, and my choice of words there may be unfortunate consider the health consequences of excessive alcohol consumption. Maybe I should count... Thanks...

 

1 beer is usually all I need to feel relaxed and satisfied. I can feel the effects of 2 beers. It depends on some factors, but if at a bar or restaurant if I am having 2 beers and planning to drive, I will often be there for 2+ hours and also be eating food. Supposedly your liver processes 1 beer/hour (varies depending on many factors). Usually I have my wife drive if I drink at all.

 

I drink until I am done usually

 

As a Type 2 diabetic, I have a standing rule for myself. Never more than one per day, and yes I have no problem adhering to it. ABV is usually below 8%.

A typical week without social events that might significantly increase or interfere with consumption:

Monday - Thursday = 0
Friday - 2 to 3
Saturday - 3 to 4
Sunday - 2 to 3

ABV does not affect amount of consumption. Usually stay within 6.5% to 9.9% range.

I run every weekday morning at 5AM. I started doing this 2 years ago to get back into shape. What drives me to continue doing this is that it helped curtail my consumption. About 2 years ago, before I started running, my weekly consumption was probably 3X the current rate.

 

This thread reminds me of a poster I remember seeing posted long ago when I was in college that said: "Wouldn't it be odd if all you talked with your friends about was how many cans of green beans you ate last night?".

 

I'm right with in your range, but have become sensitive to observations from the spouse, who think its too much. Try to walk the fine line between being satisfied/sated and marital bliss.... Special events like bottle shares, however, call for special measures....

 

1 every few days or so (It doesn't matter the size).

 

Everything in the fridge. No beer left behind. But I don't buy more than a 3 or 4 beers at a time.

 

In 35 years, I've never drank more than a single bottle. After all, my fridge isn't next to my chair.

 

0-3 beers on any day that ends in a "Y."

 

My intake typically = 3 x 12 oz. of beer.

 

I usually just try to get the job done. I mainly stay in these days when drinking. So... 3 finger pour of vodka or whiskey on the rocks and a 22oz IPA or DIPA. Or, replace the IPAs with a Sour or Imperial Stout or Barleywine. The beer is for delicious flavor and enjoyment, while to booze is just mainly to kickstart the session.

No need to fill up or bloat on so much beer. Just my opinion and what works for me...

 

Usually one a night, but if it's my cigar night with friends it's usually 2 while we're having a cigar and 2 or 3 more at the bar afterwards depending on what we drank while at the cigar shop.

 

i like to stay at 7-8 but I don't distinguish between 12oz, 16oz, 22oz, 24oz, 32oz, or 64oz if it is in one container it counts as one beer
