Curious to see what people typically spend at say a Trillium, Treehouse , JA type brewery and how often you re-load.

The $ spent can get up there pretty fast if you fill a few growlers and get some bottles.

I can't seem to get out of these places for under $60 no matter what. I am not complaining about the prices, just my lack of will power, am I correct assuming that $60 is on the low end of what people spend?

Usually spend $80 at Trillium every 2-3 weeks. That's usually including buying some beers for trades. I think I spent $70 last time I went to Treehouse.

I'm all over the map; since I work so close to Trillium, I'm sometimes there just for a bottle or two. If it's during a trip, all bets are off. I think the most I've ever spent at a single brewery at once was at Cascade in Portland, OR over the summer; I think my haul came to ~$350, but that was for 14-15 bottles, including some pricey vintage stuff. I still have a lot of it in my cellar and every time we share a bottle it reminds us of the trip, so money well spent. Also, at the time none of the core Cascade beers were available in Boston.

Well last weekends trip to Portland between Bissell Bros. and Foundation, and since the girlfriend was with me, the total between the 2 was close to $500 and you can't forget the Vinatta release at Kelsens on Friday that added another $100 to the weekend.

Did you try the Vinatta yet? I bought three bottles on Saturday but two of my friends made sure I only kept one :-). I feel like I should seek out more at the local bottles shops.

And to the original poster, sixty bucks feels like the low end to me, most of the time. This is the one area where limits are good, since they save me money :-).

Let's just say that the invention of the emailed receipt is not scoring me any points with my wife...

Depends on the brewery, how often I get there, and my preference of styles vs what they have available. I will spend much more on a trip to HF then I will on a trip to Trillium or Jacks Abby.

seems like the further i travel the more i spend. $60 is on the low end for me, nebco stops are usually cheaper because their limits are low, i am close so i don't always leave with 3 growlers. Treehouse trips usually $60-$80 and well worth it. I have spent over $300 at trillium. My last two Vt trips probably topped $400. Most of the time i grab alot more than i need to share/trade/ sell to friends.

I sort of set a beer budget for myself that averages to roughly 40 per week. That includes things at liquor stores (recently picked up 12 packs of Hoppy Lager and Hop Hunter) and brewery trips (meaning Trillium and Tree House). I don't buy growlers every week but when I do its usually special stuff (the DDH iterations at Trillium are pricey!). Its my hobby, dammit!

When I venture to VT, two cases of Heady (I miss the brewery! Those were the days) and about 100-120 at Hill are perfect for me. Of course, I have my own glass which saves some cash.

I can't say publicly, but it's just wrong how much I spend on beer.

As we only make it to VT 1 or 2 times a year, I usually spend $700-$1000 between Alchemist, Lawsons & HF & other VT stuff like Otter Creek, Crop, Foley Bro's et al. I have some local brewing buddies and (2) good friends in California that I pick up some goodies for so its not ALL for me.

Assuming that Treehouse has cans on a regular basis in May we will be adding a new leg to the trip (South on 91 out of VT) on our way back to NY which could lead a larger than normal dent in the wallet.

I've never left Trillium without spending less the $50, that's not to say they're expensive, just that I can't get out of there without spoiling myself. Normally I'll spend around $100 and a few bottles go out on trade.

Typically $150 or so at Trillium when I go (I load up on bottles). At Tree House it's usually ~$60-70 I think, but that is because of the limits.

Trilium - a case of 12 25's for $120 or so. Hill Farmstead -- max growlers (5), max bottles (cases of Anna as example -- and 2-3 of their barrel aged $30/a bottle beers like Norma) and your talking $300 or so. Usually parlay the Saisson cases into trades over a period of a few weeks. It's a crazy expensive hobby - never would have though possible just 10 years ago or so when I was satisfed w/an $18 case of Harpoon IPA......
