How much does Duvel usually cost?

Like Chimay, its a decent Belgian beer but looking at the prices people are throwing around it seems overpriced for other options of comparable style. Worth a sampling at least.

 

Yes. THIS. I think they do it every holiday season. I was walking through the liquor area last November and saw the 3 bottle boxes and thought "welp, there's my gift to myself for the year..."

It's definitely worth a try just once. And while it is a tad pricey, I've always thought Chimay was more overpriced than Duvel, and the simple truth is that it's not really easy to find (at least in my opinion) an example that's comparable enough to be worth saving a few dollars.

There's a reason it sits atop the list of BSPAs with a pretty decent margin (0.08) between itself and the next option that you're likely to be able to find easily (La Chouffe).

Never seen that, better I've seen was €12. €16 with glass.

 

That's surprisingly (to me) high. Roughly $16 (US)? You pay more than we do, and there's no ocean to cross.

 

There's a lobby over here to maintain imported beers (other than Carlsberg-Heineken-like) expensive. The one's who a have a big saying in importing are the ones who sell all the beer to Portugal, so all they do is to get craft mainstream beers expensive so everyone continues drinking their BMC-like beer.

 

It's a very good beer, but only you can say if it's worth your money!

 

on average its roughly €1.50 at a super market. A local grocery store Nettorama had the 6 packs with a fancy duvel bottle opener for €8. Sometimes it is cheaper. Sometimes more expensive. Depends on where you can get it

 

I loved that pack, and should really have bought a couple more.

 

Since when is Duvel priced with KBS and BCBS? $12.99/4 in the STL. Great beer.
