I have some fresh gandhi bot I'm looking to trade and got an offer on some head hunter that was bottled 10/17. Obviously this is not prime freshness, but will it still be a decent bottle? Any help appreciated!

Personally, I try to drink IPA's within a month, but if its an IPA that I can't always get (like say if I'm in a different town for a weekend), I push that to two months. Its a fairly arbitrary distinction, and I of course don't always follow it, but its a good starting point.

I will say from my experience Head Hunter holds up pretty well. I've definitely had it > 2 months and it was still delicious. I find that personally the more Citra forward the IPA, the quicker it seems to fade with time.

I'd shoot for less than 30 days as well, and I agree^^^^^^^, Citra is sensitive, just my opinion. The only ipa I've had that's held up 6-7 weeks was HT, no drop off at all. I'm sure they use Citra but not a clue to proportion.
