ready to brew my 2nd batch and i feel somewhat limited by my small mashtun.
realistically how much grain could i mash well in a 5 gallon tun?
also can i do 2 separate smaller mashes if the need be without effecting the final beer?

I can fit 13.5 lbs of grain and water into my 5 gal mash tun. That's at 1 qt per lb of grain. Not ideal, but it works out decently. On five gallon batches you can expect to achieve abv rates up to 9% without using adjuncts.
