    Besides cost issues, many companies rush towards the public cloud without considering exit risk. Eventually it will become necessary to leave a public cloud vendor either for another public cloud service or on-prem. Best bet is to run hybrid on public cloud and on-prem. That way if you need to move off the cloud service quickly, you can sync up the data and drop it. Or you could run on two different public cloud services.

    EMC was the big dog in enterprise class data storage for many years.
    Dell acquired EMC, now Dell's the big dog. I'm glad they kept me.
