How often do you drink a brewery's 'standard' beer?

I had a Boston Lager the other day for the first time in probably years and it got me thinking, how often do beer enthusiasts who are constantly looking for new beers to try go back to the basics? By basics I mean stuff like Boston Lager, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Fat Tire and 60 Minute. I pass them up when I shop for beer because I usually buy something I haven't tried to find much more interesting but I do like to go back to the 'standards' on occasion.

So how about you? How often do you go back to the basics?

I too usually go after something special or a seasonal release but occasionally find myself buying something like DFH 60 min, SNPA, Big Sky Moose Drool, Stone IPA etc.

Is PtE "Standard"? Knee Deep's SIMTRA for each respective brewery? If so, 50% of the time, it works EVERY time...

In all seriousness, SNPA or the new "standard" Torpedo, when attending gatherings when I'm not sure about the attendees preferences. But not all too often for myself.

Non-BA types are the one who buy the most of those beers. I drink "standard" stuff on tap all the time though.

All the time. I usually treat myself with the rare/limited/special stuff but I likes me some beer so I'd go broke if that's all I drank. SNPA is one that I forget I love, don't drink for a year then consume for a month non-stop. I love that beer. Damn, I've not had it in a while. Better go get some...

I have no problem drinking many breweries flagship beer. They mix in very well with my rotation. I don't want a 10% and up ABV chewy stout or triple digit IBU DIPA all the time. I couldn't ride the imperial train to paradise. My palate and wallet would both hate me for it.

I quit trying new stuff for the most part, especially from new breweries.
I bought SN Kellerweiss and FW Pale 31 last time Iwent to the beer store, you'd be hard pressed to find better hot weather beers at any price range, let alone for $8 a six packs, but you "beer entusiasts" can keep on trying.

I'm not sure how to answer that based on how you framed it. I definitely drink a ton of Pilsners, Pales, Porters, Helles, etc., though I tend to prefer seasonal releases these days- stuff like Troegs Sunshine Pils. Also looking forward to Oktoberfest season. I think that fits the context of what you are going for, even though they are not 'standard' beers.

That being the case, I'm not 'going back' to anything; these types of beers have always been a part of my routine, and always will be. They're foundational to my enjoyment of beer, and certainly not 'basic'.

SN Pale Ale and NB Fat Tire are staples of the touring industry; it's pretty common for me to enjoy one after a load out. As far as my own purchasing goes - I tend to stick with either seasonal or variety packs, just so I'm not drinking the same beer over and over. It's still fairly "standard" stuff - i.e. Oktoberfests or things like that - but maybe not a brewery's flagship beer.

I guess 50/60% of the beer I buy is standard, the flagship or other year round easy to find beers.

I don't tick. I drink both what has pleased me and what I think will please me. Taking out a second mortgage to acquire every beer stuffed into wood is not part of my plan. Always have time for the classics.

Most of the time these days. Ticking is just so damn expensive.

Yes, because I often buy mix cases, which typically include the brewery's flagship beer.

Depends how much I like said "standard" beer. Whether or not a beer is a brewery's flagship or a special, limited release is indifferent to me.

Since you mentioned them...I always have time for a Boston Lager and a 60 minute.

Perhaps I should have used the term 'flagship' beer for breweries that are widely available. Anyways, I mean beers that some people just don't find exciting because they're always available and may not be the most interesting. There are probably some people in the beer world and probably even on this site that wouldn't touch Boston Lager or Fat Tire because it's "too boring" or something like that. I'll be the first to admit I usually don't buy those (personally I've never cared for Fat Tire, just using it as an example) because my taste have changed but I do like to go back to what got me started from time to time.

Not very often, though I dont think I even know what a lot of breweries' "flagship" beers actually are.

I'll usually grab a pint of 60 Minute if a bar has it on draft.
