I make a big ($100+...way+) shopping trip about once every 3 months. I have a regional favorite store that I like to load up at. I loaded up in Burlington, VT in June and Ithaca, NY in September- still working through those brews. Otherwise I might pick up some stuff periodically at beer releases, brewpubs, grocery stores...etc.

I try to keep it down to once a week, but it frequently turns into two. I also try to go to my favorite brewpub at least every other week.

I make a run to my "local" bottle shop in NY every month or so from my home in Ottawa, but I also check out the liquor stores here two times a week for fresh stock...and I work about 5 minutes from a Quebec bottle shop for I often pop in over lunch to browse.

When I was in CA it was a couple times a week and a couple stores each time. It was really bad for limited releases. in LA once a week at the most and I can normally slide it to every couple weeks unless they post on facebook that something good just came in. Turnover is slow and good stuff comes in so rarely it doesn't matter.

Every damn time I see something I like or want or just feel like trying. Most trips to convenience stores, grocery stores, gas stations, and anywhere else that sells beer I'm at least looking at the selection.

Depends really. If there's something I really want I'll go get it even if I just picked up the day before. I'd say the most is twice a week.

Wow, that's amazing. How much does a good starter kit cost? Suggestions welcome.

4-5 times a week. I have two shops within 3 miles from home that have a smorgasbord of singles to choose from. So even if I have plenty, I can always stop by for one bottle of something new.

Here is a link to a few mail order starter kits. You will sink around $150 into your essential equipment that you will use for a lifetime (if you choose not to get addicted and upgrade and add on everything you can get your greedy little fingers on...ok, sorry, that was a little therapy session:wink:). Then you can purchase premade kits like these http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/brewing/recipe-kits/extract-kits for each batch that include everything you'll need for 5 gallons. You can then step up to all-grain brewing if you have the time and desire, and that will set you back another $200-$300 to get started. I just brew extract batches because of time constraints (2-3 hrs extract brew time compared to 5-9 hrs for all-grain). Its a whole lot easier than most folks think and you can brew exactly what you want instead of just having to be at the mercy of what bottles are in stock or for trade. Here is a great place to start out to learn about homebrewing, the various styles and recipes, along with tons of info and a great forum...http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/ You also get great discounts at many homebrew shops, breweries, bars and bottle shops if you are an AHA member...you can check those deals out here http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/membership/aha-member-deals/ . Went to Portland Oregon for a month this summer and saved well over $200 at breweries and bars. If I can help you with anything homebrew related, feel free to message me!

You can get into all grain for much less. I actually went from extract to all grain for about 2 dollars. I bought a home depot 5 gallon paint strainer bag and went BIAB. It worked well. The logistics were a pain as I only had a 5 gallon brew pot, but it can be done. I have since through frugal shopping added an outside burner and 11 gallon steel pot for around 100. The one thing I will caution is that it usually does not save money to homebrew. It is a hobby that you have to enjoy as it is time consuming. If you do you will always be on the search for new and better equipment.

Multiple times a week. Usually just to grab trusted shelfies and to see if any new Seasonals are in.

Realistically, once a week if not less. Ideally...everyday.

Sometimes it's just not enough, doesn't matter how many beer have I bought. But sometimes it passes a bit more time before I shop for beer. And I change the shop when I've tried all the beer they have.
