How often do you trade?

Definitely traded a ton earlier in my trading life, and I have always tended to go in spurts- mostly during the time periods when I have a bit more free time.

 

Wife says too often, I say not often enough . I definitely try and not do much during the fall when pheasant/duck hunting seasons open. Otherwise, my "avatar" won't be happy.

 

I tell myself every week I'm going to slow down. Last week I got a delivery everyday. This week I've gotten two. I sometimes trade for people's ISO because I'll have extra of it and I really don't care what I get in return. I just like trying new things, seeing what's going on across America in the beer scene, and tasting different breweries versions of styles of beers. I will get my personal whales sometimes, but not all the time.

Knoxville, TN's distro is not good, there is no local brewery that bottles/cans so I can't "drink local" like everyone likes to scream, there is no "craft bottle shops" here, and the only liquor store options that carry any type of craft selection is 30 minutes away. I don't visit them often enough to be on the "list" for the one case they get in of anything worth a crap. So, I just trade for anything I want. I'll buy in quantity when I visit my parents in Kentucky or when we go out of town so I have new things to trade.

I think in October I had 15 trades.

 

Usually once a month with my 3 regulars and once every two weeks to land the bottle of the week. I feel like I've traded a ton lately but its mostly letting past great trade partners purchase bottles from my Bruery membership.

 

I simplified my trading

whenever I max out on something good

BA Viet Speed Way - Once a year

so it ends up to be about 5-10 trades a year.

20-25 per shipment, yikes.

 

I never trade anymore - you reach a point where it's just not worth it. Plenty happy with my own local market beers.
